Set Up Your Own eBay Shop

An eBay shop is crucial to your success. It gives you much greater exposure than just listing lots of items; a real eBay presence.

I personally use a featured level shop for more exposure, but I started with a standard store hich is great and will more than be enough for you if you are just starting out, or your business is not yet as established as you'd like.

It's BEST to start small, and ONLY increase to a higher level shop when your finances and numbers tell you to do so – it's just common business practice.

eBay actually allows you to customize the look and feel of your shop with a lot of great tools too...

You should take advantage of the ‘Shop Categories’ feature, and put each of your products inside the relevant category. Don’t forget, when you are creating your listings eBay allows you to put each product into not one, but TWO of your shop categories, so you could also take advantage of that.

Try to use KEYWORD RICH shop categories, just like in your listing titles – as keywords used here will be triggered not only in the eBay search engine but ALSO in Google.com and the other major engines! Just think of the possibilities for shop visitors here :)

Now, lets talk about Shop format listings...

Instead of the normal listing which lasts a maximum of 10 days, your shop listing will last for 30 days and the listing fees are much less.

Shop format listings show up in the search engines too, which gives you a second bite of the cherry when trying to hook your customers into buying from you.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, when you open a shop, eBay gives you a unique link which you can use to promote your shop from your other web sites, forum posts, blogs, emails, etc.
